Carrie Underwood ~ #1 Video

Carrie Underwood's video for "Just A Dream" reached #1 on both the CMT and GAC video countdown's this week! The song is currently in the top 10 on the Billboard charts and still climbing. Congrats to Team Carrie for putting out such a touching video...it obviously touches the fans! Here's the video in case you haven't seen it...

Carrie Underwood Best Dressed

Carrie Underwood made the cover of People Magazine's Best and Worst Dressed Issue. This dress helped her win the title of "Best Exotic."

This isn't the first time Carrie has been recognized for her fashion! As we previously mentioned, the blonde beauty recently won the title of Red Carpet Fashion Icon on the Teen Choice Awards!

Chart Update

An interesting week as far as the No. 1 spot on the charts this week! Also a lot of slow and steady climbers, and finally some female action in the top 10!

- After reaching the top of the charts with "Do You Believe Me Now," Jimmy Wayne slipped back to the No. 2 spot last week. Well apparently he wasn't content with that spot, since he once again regains the No. 1 with his current hit!

- It seems like plenty of folks are hanging onto summer as long as they can with Kid Rock's hit "All Summer Long." That one moves into the top 5 this week landing at No. 5 from No. 6 last week.

- Carrie Underwood finally brings the female edge to the top 10 with "Just A Dream." That single moves up to No. 8 from No. 11 last week.

- Chuck Wicks makes a good jump from No. 18 to No. 14 with his current single "All I Ever Wanted."

- Lady Antebellum is still climbing with good momentum as they move up from No. 24 to No. 19 with their feel good song "Lookin' For A Good Time."

- Taylor Swift bursts onto the chart with "Love Story" which is the first release from her upcoming album, "Fearless." "Love Story" lands at No. 25 in it's very first week on the charts!

Carrie Underwood Leaves NYC

Carrie Underwood was spotted leaving her New York City hotel yesterday. The blonde bombshell was in town for the Fashion Rocks and Stand Up To Cancer events. Is it just us, or does that bag not look "Carrie"? It looks a little punk-ish doesn't it?

UPDATE: Apparently the skull and crossbones represents Carrie's college sorority...cool!

Stand Up To Cancer

Tonight at 8pm (EST) Sugarland, LeAnn Rimes, and Carrie Underwood will appear on ABC, CBS, and NBC on the Stand Up To Cancer event. These country stars are joining artists such as Fergie, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, and MORE to help raise money and awareness for cancer.

Stand Up To Cancer is encouraging the online community to help raise awareness as well. A 'virtual standup' will take place tomorrow- So for those of you who have MySpace or Facebook, you can show your support by making your status say, "Stand Up To Cancer."

Cancer has hit close to home for both us. We both have multiple family members who have battled (and some who still are currently battling) the disease. It's a very important issue and we think it's amazing that these stars are giving their time for such a worthy cause.

Nashville Going A Little Bit Hollywood?!

Have you guys noticed that country music stars are getting more and more publicity on the Hollywood magazine sites lately? Both OK! Magazine and People Magazine have had a lot of coverage in recent weeks...both online and in print. Maybe Hollywood is catching on that Nashville really is the place to be!

Grand Opening ~ BOK Center

Saturday marked the grand opening of Tulsa, OK's newest arena, the BOK Center. The grand opening was attended by 20,000 people...including Oklahoma's own, Garth Brooks. The new state of the art facility is said to be a great asset to the city, with not a bad seat in the house. Brooks spoke of the new facility, "Some of the greatest artists in the world will be coming through here, and I can only hope that I will be one of them."

Country music will help break in the new venue this fall with performances by Taylor Swift, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny Chesney.

American Idol's Country Connection

American Idol, the mega-hit TV competition that has given us Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, and Josh Gracin, announced this week that they'll add a new judge to the panel this season. Kara DioGuardi will join Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell as the judges for this season...and although she has yet to have a big-time country hit, she has spent time writing songs for Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, and country crossovers, Jewel and Jessica Simpson.

Who knows...maybe she'll give a bigger voice to country music during this season's competition!

Jessica's Beer & More on the Feud with Carrie

The feud between Carrie Underwood and Jessica Simpson just got a little more heated! During an interview with a Nashville radio station on Thursday, Jessica Simpson shot down rumors about Tony Romo still calling Carrie Underwood. We first told you about Tony calling Carrie last week when Carrie told Allure magazine that Tony does in fact still call her. You have to watch this video of the interview. You can see that Jessica gets pretty defensive about the subject (of course since Tony is her man- we totally get that,) but Jessica goes on to say that she checks his phone records! We kind of think she is kidding because she laughs after she says it, but we're not sure. What do you think? We HOPE she was kidding about checking his phone records because that just SCREAMS insecurity! She may be trying to make the point that she KNOWS he doesn't call her...

Also in the interview, Jessica denies that her shirt that read "Real Girls Eat Meat" had anything to do with Carrie Underwood and that she had no idea Carrie only ate vegetables. We're calling her out on that one!

Also in the Jessica Simpson world:

Jessica is the new spokeswoman for Stampede Light Beer. Has anyone ever heard of this beer? We must be missing it in the stores because we sure haven't heard of it!

The ad reads, (as if Jessica is speaking) "I work out and take care of myself. But I also like a cold beer once in a while. That's why I made the smart choice with a smart beer. Stampede Light, it's beer plus." Ok Jessica, we know you work out- look at you!

We really aren't digging the picture on the ad either. She looks a little too made up & that pout she does isn't always as cute as she seems to think it is. We'd like to see a smile every once in a while, Jess!!

Let's Talk About Jessica Simpson

All right readers, we're about to lay down on your couch and let you become our therapist...we need to vent! Let's talk about Jessica Simpson...again.

Let's see...we started off by being REALLY excited when Jessica showed up at the CMA Fest. We both liked her...but then she showed up in Nashville and pissed us off. She was rude, cold, and so NOT interested in her fans. Sure, she showed up at various spots through out the festival...her body was there, but it was clear that her heart wasn't. So that really blew it for us...we left Nashville thinking Jessica should go back to LA and stay there.

Well then we heard songs from the new album and we thought they were good...really good. So we're like, you know what, it comes down to the music and that's what matters, so maybe Jessica is ok after all. Although she hadn't fully redeemed herself, things were looking up for team Jessica in our eyes.

Well now we're all annoyed with Jessica once again. And this stinks. You know, either you like someone or you don't...and this whole going back and forth thing is exhausting! Now we find out that Jessica's song "Come On Over" is being featured in ads for the upcoming CMA Fest special, Country's Night To Rock on ABC. We won't lie, this totally annoys us. We guess ABC is trying to gain more of an audience by pulling some pop fans, maybe? We don't know...but we do know this...this special is to showcase COUNTRY MUSIC. There are plenty of talented, well established, female country singers that would have loved to have their songs featured in the ads. Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert...they were all at the CMA Fest, they all performed (and Jessica did NOT!,) they were all gracious to their fans, and they all have respect for Nashville and the country artists who have made this such a great genre. Those girls aren't here just for a publicity stunt...this is their life and they're proud of it. Jessica just doesn't seem to care about any of that and that really bothers us.

And another thing Jessica...just an FYI...in Nashville, country singers are just people. That's one of the great things about Music City...it's where the stars live and it's their home...they're just like any other member of society. When it's their birthday, they throw a party at a local bar and invite their fans, when they want to go to a sporting event they grab their friends and go, and when they go shopping, they walk into a boutique without an entourage...so you know what, leave your LA lifestyle in LA, and take your reserved VIP section and shove it!

LeAnn Rimes & Carrie Underwood "Stand Up" For Cancer

LeAnn Rimes & Carrie Underwood are among 15 female artists from different genres to collaborate on a new single to benefit cancer research. The single, "Just Stand Up," will be released on September 2nd, followed by a September 5th live performance of the song on the "Stand Up To Cancer" special that will be simultaneously aired on NBC, ABC, and CBS. Other artists included in the song are Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Ethridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciera, and Leona Lewis. Stand Up To Cancer is an Entertainment Industry Foundation program that calls on entertainment-industry people and platforms to help fight cancer.

Way to go girls...we can't think of a better cause to contribute to! If you want to contribute to the cause, be sure to purchase the single from iTunes when it's released.

Carrie Underwood - A Michael Phelps Fan?

Along with the rest of America, it seems as though Carrie Underwood has been cheering on Michael Phelps during the Olympic games! During an interview with Extra, the reporter told Michael that Carrie reportedly has a crush on him, to which he replied "That's the first I've heard of that. That's pretty cool!"

Pretty much the whole country has a crush on Michael Phelps right about now...but it's still gotta be cool to hear that Carrie Underwood is among your admirers!

Carrie Underwood's Struggles With Fame

Carrie Underwood is the cover girl for the upcoming September issue of Allure magazine. In the issue Carrie discusses how fame can sometimes be a double-edged sword. Of course, career-wise, Carrie has had an amazing amount of success in a relatively short amount of time...but on the personal front, things can be more of a struggle. People.com reports details of the upcoming magazine feature in which Carrie mentions her lack of immediate trust in others...Carrie says "You never really know why somebody wants to be around you, or if they genuinely do like you. I wish everyone had a label on their forehead so you could automatically tell their intentions. Sometimes you just wish that no one wanted anything from you." Awww, is it just us, or is that last statement kind of sad?!?!

Carrie also discusses a couple of her former boyfriends in the article, and in our opinion, she may have just added a little fuel to the back and forth banter between her and Jessica Simpson! Y'all know that Carrie used to date (she says it wasn't serious) Jessica's current boyfriend, Tony Romo...and that Jessica was spotted wearing a "real girls eat meat" T-shirt, which was taken as a dig towards Carrie since Carrie is a vegetarian...well, in the Allure article, Carrie says that Tony still calls her from time to time! We're sure it's nothing serious, but you KNOW Jessica won't like it that he calls Carrie! Carrie says "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer"...OUCH Tony, slammed...haha!!

The 2008 Teen Choice Awards aired last night. The show was hosted by Teen Queen Miley Cyrus. Miss Carrie Underwood took home the title Red Carpet Fashion Icon! We can totally see why Carrie is a red carpet icon! She always looks amazing!
