We're sure you're probably sick of hearing all about Jessica Simpson...the good, the bad, the ugly...all of it, it's plastered everywhere lately, but we're still going to give you our thoughts about it.
It's no secret that when it comes to Jessica, it's like we have multiple personalities! We like her, we hate her, we love her, we get mad at her...we just can't make up our mind. We're pulling for her, we really are...we want her to do well and we want to love her...but then she'll go and do something that just makes go running in the other direction!
Regardless of our prior thoughts, we were definitely looking forward to hearing the album in it's entirety. So yeah...it's ok, not great by ANY stretch of the imagination, but it's not horrible at all either. Lauren thinks her voice is stronger than it was on her last album, "A Public Affair" and she'll listen to the cd, but she's not sure she'll love it. I (Erin) think...mmm, not so much. I don't think I'll listen to it. There's 2 or 3 songs I'll listen to..."Come On Over," "Pray Out Loud," and "Do You Know"...but really, that's just about it. I just feel like she's being SO FAKE and she sounds SO FAKE...I want her to decide who she is and be that person! Whoever she is, that's ok...that's what we want! She's not Dolly Parton, she doesn't have a strong southern twang like she tried on the Grand Ole Opry, so stop trying to fake it and just be Jessica Simpson...because I think I'd like her!Would we spend money on the album? Nope. But you should definitely head over to CMT and listen to it for yourself and make up your own mind...she at least deserves that!Check out what Rolling Stone had to say about the album here...and then head on over to Entertainment Weekly and read their thoughts.

Rumors of Dolly Parton's death circulated over the weekend and fans were not happy. People were saying that Dolly had died from congestive heart failure, but that was NOT the case. A few news organizations actually reported that Dolly had died. They clearly didn't check their sources because Dolly is alive and kicking!
Dolly told Nashville television station WKRN, "I’m fine. I did about have a heart attack when I found out I was dead. But I am feeling better than ever." Gotta love Dolly's sense of humor!
Darryl Worley will headline a show that also includes Lee Brice and Carolina Rain all in the name of charity...the Buds-n-Suds concert will be held at the Limelight Club in Nashville on August 26th and will benefit the Tennessee chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Inc. The kickoff concert will also feature a silent auction featuring guitars autographed by Van Halen, Sheryl Crow and Eric Clapton, a fiddle signed by Dolly Parton, a University of Tennessee football jersey signed by Kenny Chesney, and much more! Another great example of country stars opening their hearts for the greater good!!
Dolly Parton fans gathered at Dollywood in East Tennessee over the weekend. Dolly hosted three charity concerts benefiting the Imagination Library. The charity provides free books for children until they reach kindergarten. It started off in her native country, Sevier County, and is now in nearly every state.
Joking with the audience during the show Dolly said that she usually keeps all of the money from her shows because it costs a lot to look that cheap. She cracks us up! It's really nice of her to dedicate three shows to charity! Way to go Ms. Parton!
PS: Dollywood looks like fun!
Jessica Simpson updated her Myspace page with 3 new tracks from her upcoming album, "Do You Know" set to hit stores September 9th. We actually really like her first country single, "Come On Over" and we are pretty sure that we are going to LOVE her album.
After listening to the 3 tracks recently added to her MySpace, "Remember That," "Do You Know," and "Pray Out Loud," we are almost convinced that Jessica's country album is going to be a HUGE success for her.
"Remember That" is a hard-hitting song! It tells the story of a girl getting abused by her boyfriend and then the agony of taking him back. A tough subject, but a great song!
"Do You Know" is a pretty deep love song. This is the title track of the album and the track that Dolly Parton contributed her vocals to! How awesome...love Dolly!
"Pray Out Loud," well, it sounds like a good one. Check it out!
As much as the industry, and people/tabloids everywhere, love to hate Jessica Simpson, at the end of the day, it's the music that matters, and we are thinking she's finally making the right career move.
We really think you should preview these 3 tracks! Click HERE to go to Jessica's Myspace.
