Jimmy Wayne In His Underwear & Handcuffs!!

Jimmy Wayne had quite the experience on Thursday on his way home from a California radio show! Read Jimmy's own commentary of the chain of events when he kept setting off the metal detector...

"I kept trying to get through and it would go off...finally the TSA officer said something to the effect of, 'Remove your shorts,' and I thought to myself, 'Now that sounds a little weird, but I guess it's okay – I mean they show guys in boxers in the Sunday paper ads, right? I guess maybe between not having enough sleep and not understanding him ... I don't know. I did it! He flipped! I ran back to the belt – I thought I could grab my shorts real fast – but the belt sucked the shorts up in the X-ray into the other side. So now I'm stuck in my boxers and everyone's staring."

The incident didn't end here...they actually called for police backup and Jimmy was questioned (and handcuffed!) for 25 minutes before they let him go...in HIS UNDERWEAR!!!

Lol, at least it's publicity and any publicity is good publicity, right?!

Chart Update

An interesting week as far as the No. 1 spot on the charts this week! Also a lot of slow and steady climbers, and finally some female action in the top 10!

- After reaching the top of the charts with "Do You Believe Me Now,"
Jimmy Wayne slipped back to the No. 2 spot last week. Well apparently he wasn't content with that spot, since he once again regains the No. 1 with his current hit!

- It seems like plenty of folks are hanging onto summer as long as they can with
Kid Rock's hit "All Summer Long." That one moves into the top 5 this week landing at No. 5 from No. 6 last week.

-
Carrie Underwood finally brings the female edge to the top 10 with "Just A Dream." That single moves up to No. 8 from No. 11 last week.

-
Chuck Wicks makes a good jump from No. 18 to No. 14 with his current single "All I Ever Wanted."

-
Lady Antebellum is still climbing with good momentum as they move up from No. 24 to No. 19 with their feel good song "Lookin' For A Good Time."

-
Taylor Swift bursts onto the chart with "Love Story" which is the first release from her upcoming album, "Fearless." "Love Story" lands at No. 25 in it's very first week on the charts!

Chart Update

This week's Billboard chart has some surprising (and exciting) moves!

-As
we told you yesterday, Jimmy Wayne captures his 1st No. 1 spot with "Do You Believe Me Now?"...if you haven't seen the video for this song yet, check it out on CMT and GAC...it does a great job of telling the story of the song!

-

-Kid Rock is still climbing with "All Summer Long"...it lands at No. 7 from No. 10 last week. Did you guys know that this song was co-written by Uncle Kracker?! (you know...from his When The Sun Goes Down duet w/ Kenny Chesney)

Jimmy Wayne's First #1

Jimmy Wayne's "Do You Believe Me Now" has reached #1 on both the Country Aircheck and Billboard charts this week. Good news for Jimmy Wayne- this is his very first #1 single. He received the news on Monday while making an appearance at the 43rd annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. Jimmy said, "Not many people get their first shot at living their dream, but I have been given two chances now, and I can't thank country radio, country music fans, and my record label enough for all of their support." The song is the title track from his latest album which was released last week. Congrats Jimmy Wayne!!

Jimmy Wayne is Back!

Next week, Jimmy Wayne will release his sophomore album, "Do You Believe Me Now."

For the past few years, Jimmy has been laying pretty low. You may remember him from his first single, "Stay Gone." It climbed to #2 on the charts back in 2003 followed by "I Love You This Much" in 2004. Since then, we really haven't heard much from him, but he's back now- to stay!

Jimmy's new single, "Do You Believe Me Now" is blowing up the airwaves! It's currently at #8 on the charts! The album will drop next Tuesday, August 26th.

A few thoughts on this:
1. We like
Taylor Swift, but how many times is her 1st album going to be re-released? She recently blogged about it on her MySpace. We are ready for some new Taylor tunes!!!
2. We are very excited for
Sugarland's new one!!
3. We love
Heidi Newfield's 1st solo single "Johnny and June"...we liked Trick Pony and were kind of sad when she left, but now we're thinking she just may have made the right move!
4. Two new Christmas albums...releases by
Faith & King George...how can those CD's be anything less than fabulous?!?! But, UGH, we don't even want to think about Christmas right now!!

What about you guys? Is there any upcoming music that you can't wait to hear...or how about some that you think you can live without?
