Dierks Bentley & Wife Anticipating First Child

Dierks Bentley is going to become a first time father any day now. He and his wife Cassidy are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first born child! Dierks told GAC Nights: Live From Nashville what the couple is doing to prepare for the baby.

"Some friends of mine threw a baby — I wouldn’t use the word ‘shower,’ ‘cause dudes don’t go to showers — but like a baby celebration-party kind of thing," he told the national radio show
GAC. "But it was really cool. We weren’t really gonna ask for gifts or anything because we’ve been really blessed and can get our own stuff. But it was great, ‘cause people brought stuff, [brought] things that you wouldn’t even know you needed. My stage manager brought a big box full of random stuff I would never even think of, you know, like some device that pulls...snot out of the baby’s nose. We don’t know what we’re getting into is basically what I’m trying to say. We don’t actually have a crib yet. But we have this little thing called a Moses basket, which is pretty cool, which is gonna serve as the crib until it gets here."

We'll be sure to bring you the news of the baby Bentley's arrival as soon as we get it!!

Dierks is Ready for Fatherhood

Dierks Bentley took some time to chat with the Winnipeg Sun this week. Dierks is in town for the Canadian Music Awards (which will take place tonight). Among other things, he mentioned how he is anticipating the birth of his first child this fall. "Right now we've got two dogs, who we think of as kids," he told the Winnipeg Sun. "We're looking forward to a real one ... just really excited about everything."
Dierks is taking some time off from his busy schedule to spend time with his wife while they wait for baby Bentley. The man sure deserves some time off; he's been touring constantly over the past few years!
Dierks recently released a greatest hits album and is anticipating a new studio album to hit stores early next year.

Dierks Bentley Plays Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza is a giant rock fesitval held every year in Chicago, IL. This year our man Dierks Bentley was included in the lineup. Many rock fans were said to have doubts as to why Dierks was chosen to perform. There was a MySpace page made to make fun of the fact that Dierks was on the lineup AND a Youtube video meant to do the same. Some people even wore shirts that said, "Who the Hell is Dierks Bentley?" We can't believe that someone would wear such a thing! That's downright RUDE!

Reviews from the show have already surfaced and it actually sounds like Dierks turned some of those haters into believers. One review said Dierks spoke to "cheering masses" but then goes to call him a cliché country music act. We'd bet money that some of those people will probably go out and buy a Dierks cd after seeing him live!

At the end of the day we all know Dierks can rock a crowd, but it's still a bit disturbing to see how people can treat a performer.

Fan Story ~ Ronna & Dierks

Dierks Bentley has certainly gained a loyal following since his start in country music, and that is never more evident that when you meet one his fan club members! We've been fortunate enough to meet many Dierks fans in our travels and we think the nicest one most definitely has to be Ronna!

Ronna's been to many Dierks shows and has many stories to tell, but this one ranks right up there with her favorites. On a recent DRT (Dierks Road Trip), Ronna and her fellow DRT'ers headed up to Atlanta to see their man...the show was great and she loved hearing "Sweet And Wild" which is the song that she's hoping will be Dierks' next single. After the show, they got to go see Dierks, chat with him and take some pics. Before Ronna had her turn in line, Dierks was talking with another fan but happened to notice Ronna in line and called out to her "Hey Ronna"...we love that Dierks cares enough to remember his friends. And trust us, he definitely remembers...we think he must have a photographic memory...we've heard him chat with fans and immediately he'll say "I remember you, you were at..." and continue on with what show they were at and when it was...it's actually a little scary at how well he remembers things...but of course, it means the world to his fans!

So Ronna and her girls took their time with Dierks and as always, he did not disappoint them! As members of his "DB Congress," Dierks told them that they're the inner circle of his fan club and that he really listens to their ideas...and then, this is too cute...when they all left, they said "good night Dierks" to which he responded "good night Congress." I mean, seriously?!...adorable!

As ANY country music road tripper (tripper -- did I just make that word up??) knows, the end of a road trip is always bitter sweet...you're always joyful and thankful for another handful of memories that you've made, but you're sad that it's all over. But thankfully, we all have each other to know exactly what we're feeling and are there to listen to all of the great stories from the trip! Dierks sums it up best for Ronna in his lyric "Gonna live for places I ain't been, make a lot more good remember-whens, right up to the end." If any of you have ever lived a great country concert road trip...whether it's Dierks or anyone else...you totally get it, and Dierks totally makes the DRT's memorable for his fans!

Dierks Bentley Goes International

Like we told you about last week, Dierks Bentley is traveling abroad to bring his music to the fans across the pond! Dierks is super busy during this trip...playing to sell out crowds, meeting fans, and traveling...but he's finding a few spare minutes to blog about his adventures in Europe. Head on over to the CMT blog to find out Dierks' perspective on the difference between American fans and European fans, why he couldn't stay upright for his room service dinner, and about a guy that traveled all the way from INDIA to see his show! Rock on Dierks...we think it's a great thing to spread the music worldwide!!
