Julianne Hough: Paisley Party Dropout

As we mentioned yesterday, Julianne Hough is dropping out of the Paisley Party tour due to her commitment to ABC's Dancing with the Stars. We would like to add a few of our opinions on her decision.

1. What is she thinking? Most artists who are just starting out would kill to be on Brad Paisley's tour. For many artists, it takes years in the business to be able to open for someone like Brad! Her album debuted on May 20th of this year she really hasn't paid her dues like most artists do!

2. This is poor planning. Didn't she (or her management) know that the tour would conflict with DWTS when she was booking appearances?

3. The girl needs to decide if she is going to be a dancer or a country music singer! We're pretty sure that some of her fans aren't going to be happy to learn that she dropped out of her tour!

4. Does she really think she is going to win DWTS again? Don't get us wrong, she is an amazing dancer, but after people have won a few times don't they just pair them up with the OLD geriatric men who can't dance anyway?

5. BIG mistake. We think that pretty much sums it up!

What do y'all think? We've already read a few of your comments from yesterday's post and no one seems to think this was the right move! We sure don't...not if she's truly committed to a country music career!!

She should have partied with Paisley!

Why don’t you try doing a little research before putting together an article that is just intended to cause trouble?
1) I guess all the American Idol contestants that are in country music haven’t paid their dues either. Stupid comment!
2) Julianne wanted to take Season 7 off with DWTS. She told everyone that she wanted to “Pull a Mak”. Mak is one of the male dancers who ABC allowed to take Season 6 off. She even said as much on Ryan Seacrest's radio show in the spring. Look it up, it’s called research.
3) She has said all along that she wants to sing and that is were her heart is. ABC/Disney obviously would not let her out of her contract. That’s right contract. They know what a big draw she is on the show. Ratings equals dollars, that’s all ABC is interested in.
4) Again, it’s called a CONTRACT. Do you think she wants to burn that bridge with ABC/Disney?
5) How can being seen by 20 million people twice a week be a bad thing? Yes it’s not in singing but I’m sure she will be working on that behind the scenes. She was traveling back and forward to Nashville while still doing the show.
Her true fans know what’s going on. It’s to bad people like you just write a gossip piece looking to start trouble.

1-5 I agree with everything you said to a T.

Of course she has a contract...but obviously she knew about that before she committed to her fans to perform at these concerts. If, due to her contract with DWTS, she wasn't going to be able to perform at these concerts, she should have never committed herself to them.

No, we doubt that she wants to burn her bridges with Disney...but at the same time, if she's serious about a country music career, why would she burn her bridges here? Maybe that's not her intent, but it sure doesn't seem that her top priority is country music.

Leave the poor girl alone. I agree it was poor planning on her management's part, but don't blame her. I think she was going to try to get out of her contract to continue the Paisley Party Tour, but obviously she couldn't. If anyone is a true fan, they will support her in anything she does. I think it's great that she is fulfilling her duties to DWTS one last time. Who cares if she wins or not? At least she is fulfilling her contract and after this season will be back in the country music scene for good. I wish her luck in her last season on DWTS and can't wait for her to return to country music.

I agree that her management could have done a better job at detecting potential conflicts and planned accordingly. I feel most bad for fans who bought tickets anticipating to see her and who are now let down with this news. True they can watch her on DWTS, but there's a whole other level of excitement associated with seeing your favorite artist live. I've heard she's great live so those anticipating her show are probably feeling bummed right now. Again, not her fault and I'm sure she feels awful for letting those people down. Hopefully her management will do a better job at preventing something like this from happening again.

Prior to her signing on for the Paisley Party Tour, I suspect that Julianne's management included a clause that if DWTS asks her back this season, she will have to leave the tour before it concludes. And Brad's management may have agreed, and signed her on, anyway.

If the scenario above is what actually took place, then it was smart planning on Julianne's management's part. No bridges would have been burned either way. And why shouldn't she have committed herself to the tour if both sides were agreeable to these terms? Any upcoming performer would have jumped at the chance to be on Brad's tour, even if it were only for a limited number of performances.

Besides not doing your research, you obviously haven't considered all the angles. I suggest you do that next time to build more credibility on your two-month blog.

If that was the case, then why wouldn't the whole thing have been known up front...that she was just scheduled for part of the tour? A lot of times performers are only scheduled for a certain number of shows and it's known up front which tickets they'll be on and which they won't.

We're certainly not trying to hate on Julianne on a personal level...but as country music fans, this seems like a slap in the face to a well respected tour and to her country fans.

I truly think she was planning on taking this season off of dancing and had it ok with the show, maybe something happened to one of the other professional dancers and they needed to find someone quickly to fill in because rehersals and the season starts soon. Who knows, maybe she'll get paired up with the guy no one will vote for and then she'll be out right away and possibly be able to join the paisley party. that's just my opinion though.

I do believe that singing is Julianne's first passion. She has said that a million times over that she dreamed of being a country singer since she was 3.

She is trying to fulfil those dreams for sure but personally, I like her much better as a dancer and I'm glad the are using her this season.

No way was ABC letting her out of her contract that easily. She is by far, the freshest most innovative choregrapher/dancer on that show. They need her as much as she needs them.

I'm sure once the TV media interviews her about the show, they will not hesitate to mention that she was on tour with Brad this summer and about her aspirations of truly becoming a country singer.

I just hope they don't dig up the rumor about her and Chuck Wicks, since IMHO, that doesn't look good for either him or her.

Does anyone else find it interesting that People magazine broke the story of her and Chuck dating, just a couple of hours before her management's announcement of canceling her shows? Do you think they were trying to divert the attention away from the canceling of her touring?

Thank you for having an opinion. It is so good to see that people can read something and respect people's opinions. It is funny that the article was considered a gossip piece... did I miss something or did you write something that no one knew before?

Personally, I think she should keep dancing and stay away from the singing. She is a much better dancer! (That was an OPINION, not gossip) I would rather watch her on TV twice a week, because she is one good looking woman. True, her passion all her life was country music. So was mine, but no one is going to pay me to sing.

Anyways, it seems she likes to ditch things to do Dancing With The Stars: Paisley Party Tour, her wedding... oh crap, that was probably gossip.

We actually heard that originally she was planning on skipping a season of DWTS and continueing the tour, but she recently confirmed a relationship with Chuck Wicks and we're thinking that's a big 'oops' considering he only recently moved out of Heather's and the breakup and all.. that might have something to do with this sudden change! We'll have to wait until he makes a statement to know more

Don't even bring Chuck Wicks into this! He has NOTHING to do with her pulling out of the tour and I don't think they are using him as a cover up...they have tried to keep their relationship under wraps for some time now but the rumors started so she confirmed it....yea, he has yet to confirm it, but he is a VERY private person and I don't think he will confirm it. Ya'll just need to get your facts straight before posting stuff like this

How were we bringing Chuck into this?? The only time we even MENTIONED his name in this discussion was in the comments section when we said that they announced the dating thing right before they announced she was canceling her tour...and by THEY, we weren't talking about Chuck...we were talking about her management team.

Sounds like some heated conversation in here! I wonder why everyone is anonymous...hmmm... I'm a little confused about it. Did she not know about the contract when the dates were scheduled? I don't think it's a "gossip" piece looking to start trouble. I LOVE this site & think you guys do a wonderful job trying to find substantiated media & not gossip! JMO

A contract is a contract. It's not that easy to just pull out of it. Julianne wants to be in country music more than anything. Being on DWTS helps her tremendously. She is able to reach a larger fan base through the show. That was her intent when she first joined DWTS. She is very upset that she has to pull out of the PPT early. Julianne is a sweetheart and if it was possible to please everybody, I'm sure she would do whatever it would take. After this season, her contract will be complete and I can assure you that she will come straight back to country music. That's where her heart is.

Bringing Chuck into this and having "suspicions" that the reason Julianne confirmed their relationship was to take media attention off of her leaving PPT is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. This has absolutely nothing to do with Chuck.

To Countrymusicislove-
I wasn't even referring to your comment...I was referring to the one made by rum chasers...so don't go biting my head off. I think this whole thing is ridiculous and people just need to leave them alone.
I think it's great that she is fulfilling her last contract with ABC and DWTS and I cannot wait for her to return to the country music scene...Oh, was anybody aware that she is releasing a new single soon? Yea, how about we talk about that? It shows she is dedicated to country music and this is where her heart is

Country Music Is Love said...

No one is biting anyone's head off...simply conversing, that's all. That's exciting that she's releasing a new single...what song is it? We both have her album, but aren't sure which song will be the next single.

We hope you guys are right...that her heart is in country music and she'll return after her contract ends with DWTS. We have nothing at all against Julianne...once again, we were just offended as country music fans at the turn of events regarding her career. We wish her the best of luck on DWTS...she's a great dancer (obviously) and hopefully she can use that avenue to help promote country music in a positive way.

She is releasing "My Hallelujah Song" as her next single...she announced it this past Saturday on the Paisley Party Tour...and I can't wait!

Country Music Is Love said...

Well that's exciting...maybe she'll be able to juggle DWTS and supporting her country music career at the same time. That would be great...and like we said, hopefully she can help promote country music on the show. DWTS has a HUGE audience so maybe she can pull some of them over to the country side of things.
