Alan Jackson ~ Life Changes

Alan Jackson and his family are celebrating a trio of major life achievements within the next couple of months...not only are they celebrating Alan's career achievement of selling 50 million albums, they are also proud to be sending their oldest daughter to college, and then they will celebrate Alan's 50th birthday!

Alan & Denise, accompanied by their 3 daughters, joined 400 of their closest family & friends to celebrate Alan's career milestone Wednesday night in Nashville. Alan, ever the shy center of attention, remained that the music is what matters when a reporter asked him how it felt to have sold 50 million records. He replied to the reporter "It's 50 times better than the 1st million, I guess...I still go back to the music. That's the part of the business that I like best."

Conversation later changed to the big event of sending his daughter, Mattie off to Wake Forest University in a couple of weeks. While Alan is proud and prepared, Denise is a little more reserved...Alan says "My wife is a little teary eyed and I might be when the time comes but I just feel like you raise them and prepare them for that and that's what you gear them up to do. That's part of life." Agreeing to the "teary eyed" comment, Denise confesses "I'm already feeling the loss."

When a reporter brought up the comparison of selling 50 million records and turning 50 (October 17th) within the same time period, Alan replied "That's a couple of good milestones, and I appreciate them both."

Sounds like a busy and very exciting time in the Jackson household!
