There's been a lot in the news lately about certain music being played at each political party's events...some artists aren't happy when a political figure uses their music since they may not want to either be affiliated with that political party, or they may not want to get involved at all. Such was not the case when Brooks & Dunn's "Only In America" was played at the Democratic Convention this week. Kix Brooks' remained neutral in his affiliation while expressing gratitude for the power of their music. Kix released an official statement that read "Seems ironic that the same song Bush used at the Republican Convention last election would be used by Obama and the Democrats now. Very flattering to know our song crossed parties and potentially inspires all Americans." It was nice to read that they can remain appreciative of the attention of their music while still keeping their political views private...way to go guys!
