For the second year in a row, country music's reining Entertainer of the Year, Kenny Chesney took time out of his busy schedule to play some football with the New Orleans Saints! While in town for his concert on Thursday, Kenny met up with the team wearing his infamous #7 jersey. Chesney is friends with the head coach, Sean Peyton.
"Not every coach in the NFL would let something like this happen and it kind of goes to show you how great of a coach Coach Peyton would be to play for," Chesney said. "He and I have been friends a long time and for him to let me come out and do this, it gives me a chance to get away from the bus and get away from the tour and get away from the generators and the catering and everything."
So, how did Kenny do?
"Last year I only had one try," he said. "This year I had two tries. On the first one, I totally blew it. On the second one, not only were they (punt coverage team) offside but they totally interfered with me. I talked them into letting me have a third one. Reggie (Bush) told me I better not drop the third one."
Don't worry Kenny fans, he's not going to quit his day job!
“I quit growing too young to ever think about getting to have a shot at playing even in college, so this is about the most fun I can have,” Chesney said in a release. “It’s like having a lot of these players come out and sing with us during ‘Back Where I Come From,’ ... sometimes just having the moment to feel what it’s like to do it is the greatest feeling in the world.”
