Unlucky Luke

Luke Bryan ran into some bad luck this week. On his way to a show in Carlinville, IL, Luke's bus got STUCK in over a foot and a half of MUD! The crew tried getting it out, but that bus wasn't moving. In order to make it to the show, the crew rented passenger vans and finished out the 8.5 hour trip to the venue (from Hays, Kansas to Carlinville).

One Luke fan said that at the show, the crew had to literally wipe mud off of the equipment (mic stands, drums, guitars, etc.)!! Luke didn't let that stop the show! He still wow-ed fans with a great performance! Like the old saying, "the show must go on!"

On top of getting stuck in the mud, it's rumored that while he and the band were off of the bus, a band from Texas broke in and stole, of all things, Luke's BOOTS!! How crazy is that? Apparently, their belongings were still there, but the boots were gone! The police were contacted and the boots were returned. We're glad Luke got those boots back! Those are like a Luke trademark!! We hope that his luck turns around soon!

We got our car stuck in snow in late April here in MN. We were dumb enough to try to escape the uncleared parking lot and after backing up we weren't going anywhere so we had to borrow my aunt's car to run errands. I pulled my back over that, so I hope those guys didn't hurt themselves trying to free the bus. They make stuff to put under a wheel to get out of mud & ice. I'm definitely stretching my back before moving all this stuff to try to avoid reinjury.

I was at the Carlinville show!!! They spent at least an hour wiping all their equipment clean - it was crazy!!! They all kept good spirits though and that's what separates Luke from other artists - too many of them would have just cancelled their show when the bus got stuck in the mud!!

I was at the Hays show! It rained over 3 inches that night and the wind blew about 60 mph (but that's typical for Kansas). I think Luke was even a little concerned because he asked us if a tornado was going to come through and sweep us all away. We only saw half of Luke's concert before it was cancelled, but that was enough to get me hooked! Can't wait to see him again and hopefully catch a full show!
